Brief

AutoFi's Showroom software wasn't new, but the market's understanding of it was limiting its potential. Keys & Kites repositioned, re-branded and re-launched it around a clearer narrative, and AutoFi needed a brand video to lead the way: one that told the story of a car dealership's sales cycle using the software, and showed how it makes the process more efficient and the experience better for customers.

Approach

I was the motion designer on the project. Our creative director designed the look of the video and illustrated the scenes and characters in Illustrator, and our AI specialist used those drawings to create animated characters. I storyboarded and animated the UI sections, then brought everything into After Effects, working closely with a freelance motion designer who built pieces of the animation.

Build

The video was made for the NADA tradeshow, so the deadline was extremely tight and meant a few late nights. At pivotal moments we regrouped to decide what had to happen next, including how the freelance motion designer and I would split the work so everything came together on time.

We passed the master After Effects file back and forth, and I integrated his animation, the UI elements and the AI-generated character videos into one fluid file. Storytelling and camera movement carried the video, so we watched it back often and adjusted the animation until the story landed the way we intended. After a few rounds of client revisions, mostly making sure the UI matched AutoFi's real software, we handed it off.

Result

The video is now used on LinkedIn and on AutoFi's site, where their clients can watch it. Most importantly, it was the main attraction at AutoFi's booth at the 2025 NADA tradeshow. Our account team attended the show, and the booth got outstanding feedback! The video helped potential clients understand the pain points AutoFi's software can solve for them.

Inspiration

We pulled inspiration from a Slack ad with similar camera movement. Its way of traveling from scene to scene shaped how our video moves through the dealership.

Storyboards

The storyboards mapped every scene and camera move before any animation began, so the team was building toward the same story.

UI animation

I storyboarded and animated the UI sections of the video, matching each screen to AutoFi's real software, then integrated them into the master file.
