Brief
Prairie View A&M University had just installed a new jumbo screen at its football field and needed signage for it. The brief was open ended: create something using the university's branding. It began as a 48-hour turnaround to get signage ready for their next game, starting with simple, repeatable clips like "Defense" and "Make Noise" that could play again and again during a game.
Approach
I started with storyboards, exploring layouts and ways to bring the brand to life, including PVAMU's panther mascot. I shared them with the university's Marketing Director and talked through how I pictured each one moving, so we agreed on a direction before I built anything.
Build
With the storyboards approved, I moved into building the videos. We went through two rounds of feedback until the team was happy with the results. I delivered both videos on time, with room to test them on the screens before game day.
Result
The signage is now part of the game-day experience, and you can see it at PVAMU games!
Reflection
This was one of my favorite projects! It gave me room to play with different ways of manipulating type in After Effects and to put new adjustment layer techniques to work. Building across so many compositions was a great exercise in bringing energy into an animation.
